Broad Ripple Rugby is now Royal Irish Rugby Youth!

Merger with Broad Ripple Park Rugby

RIR Clinic 10+:Sunday, November 10th, 2019

RIR Clinic 10+:Sunday, November 10th, 2019

We are excited to announce that Broad Ripple Park (BRP) Rugby has merged with Royal Irish Rugby (RIR). The combined entity consists of:

  • High School (A, B sides)
  • Youth grades 7-8
  • Youth grades 5-6

The merger will provide common administration, shared financial and fundraising resources, and develop high-quality players by teaching the game of rugby as early as the 5th grade. For several years, Royal Irish has had BRP players who moved on to the high school level. The new entity will secure a solid talent pipeline and strengthen the overall program.

Chris Kaufman will remain as the administrator while a new youth parent board was created in August and has been active since September. Last but not least, we welcome two coaches to RIR ranks: Rick Michaelis and Zach Douglas, who are, of course, RIR alumni.
