Head Coach – Royal Irish Boys Rugby

About the Program

For 33 years, Royal Irish Rugby has been one of the most successful high school rugby programs in the country. We are now looking for a new Boy’s High School Head Coach to continue that success.


The Head Coach will lead the Royal Irish Boys Rugby program, overseeing all aspects of team development, competitive performance, and program growth. This position reports to the Royal Irish Rugby board.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Spring 15s and future Fall 7s season.
  • Lead practices and games, ensuring development and safety.
  • Recruit and retain players through relationships with feeder programs. 
  • Recruit, select, and develop assistant coaches with board approval.
  • Participate in board meetings to align program goals and direction.
  • Develop and implement practice/game plans with clear pathways for success.
  • Ensure compliance with all governing bodies requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with players, parents, and the community.
  • Represent the program with professionalism and integrity on and off the field.

Requirements

  • World Rugby / USA Rugby Level 1 Coaching Certification.
  • Prior rugby coaching experience required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Practices 2–3 times per week,
  • Matches are on weekends and weeknights (includes matches out of state)

Parent Support

The team is supported by a strong Parent Organization that manages all aspects of administration and logistics allowing the coaching staff to focus on mentoring players.

Compensation

  • This is a volunteer position.
  • Expenses are reimbursed
